~ Bathrooms Extraordinaire ~

Public restrooms are usually pure function ~ nothing special or pretty unless you're at Nordstroms or Saks. Recently, our family was priviledged to attend the wedding of some friends at a church in our area. When visiting the restroom afterward, wow! This church had recently redecorated their ladies restroom as a gift for Mother's Day. They went over the top! Just amazing! I don't make a habit of taking pictures of restrooms; but, this is one more day I was very thankful for the handy pocket camera my son had given me for Christmas a couple of years ago. Enjoy!

Just inside the door was this little sitting area...

On the wall the door opened against was this beautiful wall painting
containing a scripture speaking of ladies....

And the vanity area just inside of the little sitting room...

Straight in the door from the sitting room was this lovely wall mural with another scripture.

Note the vanity is to the left and the restrooms are to the right.

A little close up of a part of the wall mural in the restroom area.

They even decorated above each commode!
I hate to even include this picture because it's so blurry; but,

this is what you see when you open the door to this lovely ladies room!

What do you think?

We all agreed that this ladies room reminded us of what God wants us to be.
Feminine, worshipful and fearing the Lord.
"Favour is deceitful and beauty is vain,
but a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised!"
Proverbs 30:30

I love it when restrooms are fixed up pretty. You come out feeling refreshed in spirit as well as with your hands washed and whatnot. What a neat idea for a church to decorate the ladies' room as a Mother's Day gift!

Aww, Karla! I should have known you would see when I FINALLY got a new post up. I was telling our missions director all about what a blessing and friend you have been over the years. He said I should really fly out there and see you! That would be so fun to catch up, wouldn't it? Maybe someday! Always know you are VERY loved and appreciated. He was amazed at what a friend you have been over the years and so thankful that you are there for Joe and Janelle now! Have a lovely evening!

Thank you, Aunt Nesi, for the beyond SWEET comment you left on my blog. As always, it was a DELIGHT to hear from you!!!! =)

I love this post!!! This bathroom is adorable and like your friend said, It surely would lift your spirit. What a fun place to "hang out" while nursing a baby or such. =) LOVE the Scriptures, mirrors, shoes, and purses on the walls!

Aunt Nesi, Thank you for your very NICE comment you left on my contentment post. It brought tears to my eyes. Like I told my Mother-in-love about her sweet comment that she left on Mary's birthday post, "I don't know that I deserve everything you said, but Lie on, I LOVE IT." ;-)

What you had to say is exactly how I feel. I used to know a tune to go with the words you left on my blog about "Babies don't keep" and I sang it when my Kimberly and Sarah were babies."

Wow! I cannot believe that you did such thorough cleaning...cleaning your windows and screens each month, etc. You go girl! =) Most of my windows have bars on the inside and so I can't even reach them to clean them. But, like you said, that's not what will matter one day. What will matter is if I love my husband and our children... by being there for them. Spending time talking, being together, Baking yummy treats for them to enjoy, and influencing our 5 to serve Jesus! My goal is that our Dickinson circle be unbroken in Heaven! =)
Love ya bunches,
~Heather~

Aunt Nesi, Oops! I forget to tell you that I love your new blog back ground...really cute.

Also wanted to tell you AGAIN...how much I LOVE making the T.P. pumpkins that you taught me about. Being in Colombia where I can't just go to a farm or grocery start to find nice pumpkins to decorate with, I just LOVE being able to make up my T.P. pumpkins to use in my house when it's fall. Thank you again. I made one for my friend Marisol the other day. She saw my black and white polka dotted material and wanted one made out of that. I made one and it turned out adorable!! So, I made another one for myself...and plan on using it soon to go with the black plates and white and black polka dotted paper napkins I just recently bought. I'll post pics. =)
Love ya,
~Heather~

Wow...what a neat bathroom! And I agree with Karla...it's a neat idea to decorate it for Mother's Day.

I have a GREAT idea...when you go out to see Karla, you could stop for a visit at my house. It's not halfway, but we could pretend it is. =) This kind of talk makes me think how wonderful Heaven is going to be! We won't have to worry with distance and time anymore. =) Praising our Savior together for all eternity! Blessings, my friend!
