Tuesday's Teatime ~ "Dressed to a Tea"

This week La-tea-dah asks us to share pictures of how we dress for tea. I love hats; but, can you believe, I don't own a hat for wearing in public ~ just an old straw one for working in my garden! So, on my list of things to get: a hat ~ just for tea!

This January a few of us got together for tea at a friends house. She had seen pictures of Jan Karon's tea and thought it looked so pretty with everyone dressed in white; so, she asked us to do the same. Some of us went with winter white; but, the overall effect was very pretty. See my profile picture for how I dressed for this special tea party.

Miss Sharon was the only one that had a suitable hat ~ I love this view from the back as she takes pictures. Isn't her hat darling?

Miss Miranda isn't the fou-fou type but she looks so pretty in her ivory cardigan and khaki skirt. Miss Karen ~ ever the lady~ looks so elegant in her white cotton blouse complete with a cameo brooch at the neck and white linen skirt. She even had a pretty handbag to match!

This is of my niece's bridal tea at a lovely tearoom in Stuart, Florida. The mother of the bride, my sister-in-law, is dressed in pink in the foreground. Other guests wore sundresses or cotton skirts and blouses for this lovely spring occasion.

The bride, seated next to the window with her sunglasses on top of her head wore a sundress. Her bridesmaids also wore pretty cotton sundresses for this special occasion.

For more pictures of the bridal tea, check back in a few posts when we tell of favorite tea venues.

What a fun post! I think a 'white tea' would be so much fun! Everyone looks so beautiful in their white attire! The bridal tea was pretty as well. Sun dresses aren't usual attire where I live, but I can see how they make a sweet and dressy showing in Florida! Beautiful!

I'm glad you are back 'on the teacart' this week! I enjoyed your post!

So pretty! I thought that everyone looked lovely...some even elegant, but all lovely.

What beautiful locations for a tea party, too. A Jan Karon tea...I had no idea.

What? no hat? :). I love to see women wearing hats but they are not very comfortable to me. Your pictures are so beautiful, what fun! :)

What is a Jan Karon tea?

I believe it was in one of Tea Time magazine's first issues. They featured the tea Jan held for her birthday, as I recall. She held the tea at her house and everyone was dressed in white as required on the invitation. Of course, she served various items mentioned in her Mitford series books and featured in her "At Home in Mitford" cookbook. Doesn't that sound fun? I will try to locate the article and tell about it on a post as you aren't the only one wondering. Smile! Sorry ~ I just figured everyone had seen that magazine article, I guess!

Thanks for sharing all the pictures. It is always fun to see how the work of some blesses so many others. You all looked so lovely.

All the ladies look so lovely in the white tea photos! It felt like taking a peek inside a tea held on Prince Edward Island in the Victorian era!

What a lovely post!

Hello Denise, not up yet but am using my daughters laptop. Hi I wanted to let you know I have posted some. Not like I would have if I were up and running. But at least something new.
I love your "tea". Thanks for sharing.
